Ridge and Valley Conservancy’s nature preserves are a great place to spend time outdoors with friends and family. RVC is a non-profit land trust that cares for many preserves with public walking trails in Sussex and Warren counties.
Dark Moon Preserve, located in Green, is the most popular among visitors. It features a mostly-flat walking path through fields and forest, alongside a small stream and around large swaths of native grasses. RVC often hosts group hikes during the full moon at this preserve, this month's walk is on May 5th from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.
Greendell Ridge Preserve is also treasured by visitors, and is located just nine miles from Hackettstown.
If you are an outdoor enthusiast or looking for volunteer opportunities in your community, Ridge and Valley Conservancy is always looking for help maintaining their preserves. You can find more information about RVC, upcoming events and downloadable trail maps at ridgeandvalleyconservancy.org
